Ahh, the season of giving. No matter what holiday your family celebrates, you just might find yourself wrapping a few gifts this year. I don’t know about you, but it can be a bit overwhelming to manage the gifts that go along with all the different events of the season.

Every little way you can streamline the process will make the holidays seem brighter! Simply gathering supplies, sharing the load and planning ahead will go a long way, as well as set you up for success in the future.

To make things easier this year, we thought we’d share a few of our favorite ideas to add some gift wrap organization to your life and make gift-giving a more enjoyable experience!

Keep Everything Together

Store all of your wrapping paper, tissue paper, and gift bags in one place. This way, you’ll be able to see all of the options you have at once. You can quickly and easily choose the best wrapping for any gift. At AFS, we love rolling gift wrap organization carts and other portable organizing solutions to keep everything tidy. This way, you can set up wherever you need to when it’s time to wrap everything.

For the holiday season when you’re doing more wrapping than usual, use a bonus or low-traffic room in your home for gift wrapping. Simply set up a folding table or move your portable organizer close to some open floor space. Now, you’ll have a place to spread out, but you’ll be able to close the door when you’re not wrapping gifts.

Don’t Forget Accessories

When you’re out purchasing the basic supplies for gift wrapping, don’t forget the extra accessories you’ll need! Tape and a good pair of scissors are a must. Ribbon is a great touch, and pre-made bows can save you some time. You’ll also want to look for gift tags, tissue paper, and writing utensils to put the recipient’s name on each gift.

Keep your accessories in check with a small tote or bin. You’ll never be without tape when you get that perfectly folded corner!

Manage Your Time and Efforts

Organizing goes far beyond just “stuff.” Gift wrap organization also involves some planning of your time! If you can, wrap gifts as you purchase them to avoid having a stockpile to wrap later.

Prevent a last-minute scramble by wrapping a few gifts each day. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, either! Designate a group of gifts for each family member to wrap, and those gifts will be ready in no time!

Tip: If you need help wrapping or need to teach family members how to help you, find a video tutorial to walk you through the steps!

Add a Little Fun

Get creative with your gift wrapping organization! Use stylish chalk labels or holiday-themed washi tape to label your supply bins and storage locations. Drum up a little extra cheer with a colorful storage bin. Store your ribbon in a translucent box so you’re always ready to add even more pizzazz to a gift.

Create a Year-Round System

If you like to give gifts for friends’ birthdays or other special occasions throughout the year, don’t limit your organization to just the holiday season! After the holidays, store any holiday-specific items out of the way since you likely won’t need them until next year’s holiday season.

Whatever gift wrap organization system you have set up for the holidays, you can now expand or adapt it to suit your non-seasonal gift wrap items. Any time you purchase a gift, you can easily wrap it without having to purchase new wrapping supplies or having to hunt around the house for something to wrap with.

A little gift wrap organization can make a big difference in saving time and energy during the holiday season and beyond.
