Getting Organized... Staying Organized
  • Can’t find your keys?
  • Missed an appointment?
  • Overwhelmed with clutter?
  • Don’t know where you put your child’s permission slip?
  • Get where you are going and don’t have what you need?
  • Feel as if your brain is full and you don’t know what to do next?
  • Frazzled and frustrated?

Welcome to my world!

Sometimes it is hard to admit you need help. But it’s harder still to do everything yourself. You set up systems, make plans… but you are still disorganized and frustrated.

As a professional organizer, I work with people in many situations . . .

  • Entrepreneurs and small business owners
  • Individuals who inherit things from their family
  • Downsizing homeowners or retirees
  • Kids & families with too much stuff
  • Kids with special needs such as autism, ADD, or developmental delays
  • Homeowners looking to sell their homes who need help getting organized and making their house look great

Every person is different and so are circumstances. However, common threads flow through the daily lives of us all. I work with each person or business on an individual basis, and focus on your specific needs. My goal is to help you become a better you by enhancing your talents and skills with organizing techniques and mindsets. And help you keep track of your keys!

At Home
  • Bring order, calm, and control to your home and family life.
  • Save money by organizing your bills, shopping, tasks, rooms, clothing and more.
  • Get things done more efficiently so you have more time to do the things you want to do.
  • Put your house in order so you can find what you need—and need what you find!

At Work
  • Bring structure, logic, and control to your business and personal life.
  • Optimize workflow to increase productivity, reduce stress, and heighten profitability.
  • Create a sense of calm and structure to your daily routines
  • Motivate you with real solutions to the everyday or ongoing challenges of too much to do, changing priorities, and information overload.

As with my home staging, I work with what you have as much as possible, while offering suggestions for streamlining and condensing your “stuff;” as well as enhancing your time management skills.

Check out my recent contribution to Mary Hance's Ms. Cheap column in the January 29th Life section of the Tennessean. I love Mary and this article talks about her attempts at de-cluttering. I hope my tips helped!

Sometimes a sounding board is what you need, sometimes direct suggestions or observations do the trick. Each of us has a different learning style and way of processing information. I work with you to discover what works best for you and your lifestyle. There are no cookie cutter solutions—what works for you is what’s best for you.

When people ask how I became a professional organizer, I have to say that my career path naturally led me to this. I’ve had varied experiences but running through them was the continual improvement in my natural organizing ability, as well as fine-tuning my skills.

Hi Liz,

I just wanted to let you know how well our (finally) organized living room is working. It looks amazing, still, after a week. I am really impressed by your practicality and high level of professionalism when working with the hopelessly disorganized, such as me. In the three years we have lived in the space, our living room has never looked so good nor been so easy to maintain, and I give you all the credit for that. Thank you again so much, and please use me as a reference if you ever need one--I would be happy to tell anyone how fantastic and wonderful it is to work with you.

Best,

Jennifer

My degrees are in Education and Psychology, and I taught children with disabilities for many years. I’ve owned two retail businesses, in the entertainment and arts fields. My passions have always been for animals, children and the arts so serving on boards has always come naturally to me, as well as extensive volunteering and charity work. Not to mention the hundreds of kittens I’ve rescued and adopted out to loving homes.

Working in small business is my forte, as well as family situations where everyone is going in different directions. I love working with kids and their spaces – they are ever creative and entertaining!

A recent client wrote me this: "I wanted to thank you again for transforming the chaos I referred to as a home office into a place where I can function efficiently without feeling overwhelmed.  I love that I can see where everything is at a glance . . .  the feeling is very liberating and calming."

Just give me a call to discuss your specific needs.
We can meet and determine how to best proceed.

March 1, 2007… I would like to express my sincerest thanks for the thoughts and prayers from my friends, family, clients and business acquaintances during my recent, and successful, battle with thyroid cancer. Many have asked how I knew I had it. Well, I didn’t, but I knew something wasn’t quite right when I kept feeling an odd pressure in my throat. So, I offer my greatest gratitude to Dory Turney at Dr. Frank Caprio’s office with Heritage Medical Associates for hounding me to get in for an ultrasound, which resulted in finding nodules on my thyroid. Special thanks also to Dr. Rekha Pandula, my endocrinologist, and Dr. Kathleen Crews Williams, my surgeon. My recent scan, after my radiation therapy, showed that the cancer should be eradicated from any thyroid cells and lymph nodes. Now, it’s a matter of regaining my strength and stamina. The hardest part for me has been accepting the help and support of others, which is difficult for someone like me. I just want these people to know how much they are appreciated, and how much they helped me get through this. And for anyone who doesn’t feel quite right… please have it checked out, even if you are the one who is always taking care of everyone else—take care of yourself first!
